Award: $20.1 million. Incident Location: Holiday Inn, Glen Burnie Case Information: Plaintiffs Gary and Lisa Boulay's 3-year-old infant was playing in Defendant Holiday Inn's childrens' pool. The cover had come off the main drain in the pool. The skimmer had been previously closed so all suction was directed to the main drain. The child sat on the drain. The child's intestines were sucked out through his rectum resulting in an 80 percent loss of his small intestine and 20 percent loss of his large intestine. Daily Record, 1996
